Boardgame Library

Thanks to our meeple-members we’ve been able to start building up a board game library. Our Librarian manages the growing collection of quality games. You can try them out during our events, and if you become a meeple-member you can also borrow games from the library. The collection is housed at THUIS Wageningen.

The rules for acquisition, usage, and management of the Library games can be found in this document (English).

The Collection

New games are constantly added to the library. The most up-to-date list of our collection can be found on our BoardGameGeek profile.

T.I.M.E. Stories

You are a “time detective” on a mission. The ever-grumpy Bob briefed you about an ancient artifact, spooky disturbance, missing person or historical event that needs your attention. You have 30 minutes to figure it all out and prevent a disaster! And poof: you’re instantly transported through time and space. Together (2 to 4 players) you piece all the information together and visit beautifully illustrated locations. And when the time runs out in T.I.M.E Stories? You just warp back to the beginning and do it all again, but with more knowledge than the previous run. You’re a time detective, remember? There are various scenarios included. If you feel like we need more T.I.M.E. Stories, ask our Librarian.

Terrorscape

Terrorscape: a slasher horror film as a board game! Play as a group of unfortunate travellers locked in a mansion, or as the killer hunting them down in this hidden movement adversarial team game. Travellers can only run and hide, but the killer gets closer with every noise they make…

Ticket to Ride: Amsterdam

Another Ticket to Ride?! Yes but this game has a much smaller scope. Instead of an entire continent you’ll be focusing on just one city. Just like the Noord-zuid lijn, Ticket to Ride: Amsterdam takes you a quick 30 minutes. Set in 17th century Amsterdam, you are building trade routes with carts across the Dutch metropolis to complete contracts so you can come home, kick off your clogs, and eat a lekker stamppot met stroopwafel en koffie. Plays 2-4 players.

Ticket to Ride: Europe

Build train routes across Europe and claim lucrative tickets, but be careful that you don’t get too greedy, or those same tickets will be negative points. Ticket to ride is just such a comfortable and relaxing game, and the European map makes me want to book an interrail ticket. Plays 2-5, and boy is it deliciously cramped at 5 players.

War Story: Occupied France

Night covers your movements, a German soldier idly stands smoking a cigarette. Taking him out will alert the others, but he stands between you and your objective. War Story: Occupied France is a narrative-first cooperative game about leading a team of French Resistance saboteurs and spies to disrupt the World War 2 German war effort. Contains three replayable missions.

Wingspan

Wingspan is the award-winning bird game about birds and doing bird things. Every part of this game is luxurious: from the linen-finished rulebook, mouth-watering inedible(!) eggs, birdbox dice tower, and wonderful bird facts on every card. And the gameplay is great too: build combos of birds in your wildlife reserve, while competing to bird the best bird. Plays 2-5 birds, but best with 2 or 3 birds.
